There is something that all Donor families have in common; a loved member of their family has shown their kindness from the heart by signing up as an Organ Donor, to maybe help another person have a normal life.

Roslyn & I met as young adults working in the same workplace, when I first seen Roslyn I was stunned by her beauty. We began dating after a short period; and were engaged in December 1973 and married in December 1974. Up until the day she passed away, we were married for 42 years and 5days.

In the period from December 1975 until April 1982, Roslyn gave birth to our 3 sons. Michael, Matthew & Bartholomew.

Roslyn was a full time Mother & Housekeeper until Roslyn re-entered the work force in 1995 working at St. Mary’s Aged Care Facility at where she worked for 18 years until she retired in 2013.

Roslyn was a gorgeous, fun loving vibrant and full of beans Wife & Mother & MA to our 11 grandchildren. Having 3 Sons, she was over the moon when our first two grandchildren born were girls; we went onto having 4 grandsons and 7 granddaughters.

Roslyn was always straight forward in what she said and thought, she would pull no punches.

Roslyn always liked to potter around in her gardens and always made sure that she always had flowering plants in her garden. I always assisted with the garden as well.

Roslyn also loved going to the beach and swimming whether it be at the beach or in the backyard pool.

In 2012 we bought a Campervan and did some extensive travelling, seeing parts of QLD, NSW, VIC & SA. In 2015 we decided to upgrade to a caravan, no more putting away the Campervan in the rain. We loved seeing places that we had never been to before, and also it was a great time to have togetherness as we loved each other’s company so much.

When time permitted us, we would both go for a walk around the area where we lived. Roslyn was always watching her health and tried to stay fit and healthy, due to Diabetes being prevalent in her family.

Roslyn and I had a special type of love that we found got stronger the longer we were together. That love for my Roslyn is still growing stronger each day even though she is not with me now.

At the age of 61 years Roslyn had an AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) of which she was obviously born with. An AVM is a tangle of the blood vessels in the brain or on its surface bypasses normal brain tissue & directly diverts blood from the arteries to the veins. Brain AVM does occur in less than 1% of the general population. It is commonly known as an Aneurism. Unfortunately no one knows that they have an AVM until this sort of thing happens.

Roslyn lost consciousness due to the AVM (Aneurism), she was placed on life support for 72 hours, but unfortunately did not respond during this period of time, after which the life support was switched off and she passed away, she then became an Organ Donor.

Roslyn was an incredible woman and a wonderful wife and a Terrific Mother of whom I miss so very much.
