Saffron Day encourages all Australians to register as an organ donor and talk to their families, in recognition of 7-year-old organ donor Deyaan Udani. Deyaan’s generous gift gave 4 people another chance at a full and healthy life.

How to get involved

  1. Show your support by wearing or displaying something orange, Deyaan’s favourite colour.  
  1. Take a photo.  
  1. Post it on social media and use the hashtags #saffronday #donatelife #doitfordeyan   
  1. Spread the word about organ and tissue donation in your caption, such as:  
  • ‘I’m wearing orange for Saffron Day to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation’.  
  • ‘Saffron Day is the perfect opportunity to talk to your loved ones about organ and tissue donation’.  
  1. Have a conversation with your friends and family about organ and tissue donation.

We want all Australians to talk about organ and tissue donation. If you want to be a donor, make sure you tell your family and friends.

Registering is easy and only takes one minute. All you need is your phone, Medicare card and one minute to register.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, your medical history, your lifestyle, what country you’re from or how healthy you are — you can still register as an organ and tissue donor.
