For DonateLife Week’s 10th birthday, we ran The Great Registration Race for DonateLife Week to encourage up to 100,000 more Australians to register as organ and tissue donors and talk to their families about donation.
We are excited to share that we did it!
We have exceeded our target throughout June, July and August with a huge 108,952 new registrations recorded on the Australian Organ Donor Register.
We had the unique privilege of sharing some remarkable stories of love, loss, resilience, hope and gratitude from donor families, transplant recipients and staff and volunteers from all around Australia.
The backbone of DonateLife Week campaigns has always been community involvement. It’s a huge team effort!
To all our supporters, thank you for getting behind us every year, we are so grateful. All of your hard work and support has definitely paid off. To everyone who has posted a selfie on social media, shared our content, got out and about in DonateLife magenta, spoken to media, volunteered your time at an event, and importantly spoken to your family, friends and colleagues about the importance of organ and tissue donation – thank you. Every conversation and mention about #DonateLife counts.
