Applications for the DonateLife 2025 Community Awareness Grants program are now open.

Up to $600,000 in grants is available for community partners to work with DonateLife to raise awareness and encourage people to register as an organ and tissue donor. Our target audience are Australians who support donation, but are unaware of how or why they need to register as organ and tissue donors.

Research tells us that 14% of the Australian population (2.8 million people) fit this profile.

They are busy, active members of their community who need repeated messaging over extended periods of time to prompt them to register. They broadly know what donation is and why it is important, but that’s not enough for them to have registered yet. They are from a diverse range of backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and First Nations people.

Grants are available across 3 categories:

Category one: local events or activities for DonateLife Week 2025Run a local event or activity to support DonateLife Week 2025. 
Category two: digital content creationCreate digital content that builds awareness about organ and tissue donation. 
Category three: national marketing or public relations strategiesDevelop and implement national marketing or public relations strategies, encouraging registrations for organ and tissue donation. 

In the past, successful projects delivered by community partners included:

  • awareness days to get the community talking about organ and tissue donation
  • targeted digital advertising campaigns
  • broadcast content marketing, including podcasts and radio
  • video resources and distribution strategies for cultural groups.

Applications for 2025 funding open Monday 21 October 2024 at 10:00 am AEDST and close Monday 18 November 2024 at 4:00 pm AEDST. Late submissions won’t be accepted. Successful applicants are expected to be announced in early 2025.
