DonateLife community partner Make Mate has won an international award at the prestigious Wires Global Awards.
The Wires Global Awards recognise the very best use of digital media, marketing and commerce, across all aspects of media sales and media buying. They celebrate the use of technology, expertise, and innovation within the industry.
Make Mate was awarded Best Gaming User Acquisition/Monetisation Technology for its groundbreaking work, made possible with a DonateLife Community Awareness Grant.
The innovative approach to advertising used gaming technology to capture audience attention and drive social impact. Working with Digital Turbine, Make Mate implemented a unique feature that gave users an extra life in their game, if they watched an ad for DonateLife.
By seamlessly integrating advertising into the gaming experience, Make Mate successfully engaged a younger audience and delivered a powerful message about the importance of organ and tissue donation. This initiative not only increased brand awareness but also inspired a new generation to consider the life-saving impact of registering as organ and tissue donors.
‘We're absolutely thrilled that Make Mate’s groundbreaking work has been recognised with this award,’ said Brianna Elms, National Manager, Communications and Engagement at the Organ and Tissue Authority. ‘Make Mate’s approach shares the important message of registering as a donor in an innovative campaign that has helped us reach young people – of whom only 10% are registered as organ and tissue donors on the Australian Organ Donor Register.’
