Charities, Herd of Hope and Cottages 4 Country Care, were the driving forces behind 'Til the cows come home - a very special delivery of a herd of cattle at the entrance of the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The purpose of the unusual delivery was to raise awareness and funds for the charities and highlighted the important role they play in supporting organ and tissue transplantation.
Herd of Hope supports organ donor families and transplant recipients in rural and regional areas and are reknowned for brining attention to the importance of donation. Cottages 4 Country Care provides accommodation for country people travelling to Adelaide to see doctors and specialists. Partnering together officially for the first time, the charities held an auction to 'sponsor' a cow and calf, raising more than $15,000.
